What is the SECL?

The SECLO is a mandatory prior labor conciliation service in which the worker and the employer try to reach an agreement to avoid legal proceedings.

The service provided is nothing more than a mediation between parties, where the body appoints a mediator to whom the parties must attend a conciliation hearing to try to reach an agreement.

If an agreement between the parties is not reached, the mediation is closed and at that time the legal action can be initiated.

In the SECLO, all individual and multi-individual claims on conflicts of competition law of the National Labor Justice (companies located in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires or with fiscal domicile in this city) are settled. This body works in the orbit of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security. In the event of a disagreement between the worker and the employer, the SECLO acts as an instance of mandatory conciliation prior to the initiation of a labor lawsuit. While, in case of agreement between the parties, the SECLO analyzes what has been done.
